AFC Rushden & Diamonds under 21 “Elite” & under 18 “Strive” squads aim to attract, develop and progress players on a path to semi-professional or professional football. These exciting Elite squads are looking to attract players from 16 years old from across the region. A dedicated team of FA qualified coaches will provide a high quality coaching programme for the under 21 “Elite” & under 18 “Strive” squads, playing competitive games in the high quality and challenging Midland Football League. The players will have the opportunity to represent AFC Rushden & Diamonds in friendlies against other professional and semi-professional football clubs.

TRIALS NOW PAST AFC Rushden & Diamonds Academy Open Trials
AFC Rushden & Diamonds Academy is pleased to announce open trials dates for its successful and expanding Academy for the 2013/14 season.
Trials will be held at Manor School in Raunds:
- on Saturday 25th May for U14, U15 & U16 age groups (school years 9-11)
- on Saturday 1st June for U12 & U13 age groups (school years 7&8)
- (Age groups as at September 1st 2013)

Since its inception less than a year ago, Academy players have demonstrated their abilities against teams from West Bromwich Albion, Nottingham Forest, MK Dons, Burton, Walsall, Cheltenham Town, Cambridge United and Kidderminster Harriers, to name but a few.
The Academy’s programme for learning is naturally centred on football activities, yet we consider that we can offer many other facets, which are important for a young person to develop as an individual within society. In addition to helping young players enhance their football ability, we will also educate them on aspects of fitness, nutrition and health issues.
The Academy will provide a learning environment where young players can develop their football skills and understanding of the game under the guidance and tuition of highly qualified coaches and other relevant personnel.
We seek to ensure that participation in the activities of our Academy will help all our young players to acquire good values, which will serve them well in the future be it in football or otherwise. Involvement with the Academy will hopefully teach the players the importance of loyalty, dedication, diligence and respect for others. Our aim is to support in nurturing a players social and interpersonal skills so that he develops into a confident, courteous and assertive individual along with becoming a talented footballer.
This opportunity is ideal for players currently attending local player development centres and still playing for local sides that feel they are ready to take the next step up in their football education.
