LUKE HENDRIE MANCHESTER UNITED FC ACADEMY PLAYER

Luke Hendrie impressed for Manchester United in the Under-15s and Under-16s after making the move from Bradford City.

He is primarily a combative midfield player, his athleticism allowing him to get round the pitch impressing his energy on the game. But he also possesses good skill on the ball and strong passing qualities.

Luke Hendrie comes from strong footballing family. He is the son of former Bradford and Middlesbrough forward John, while ex-Aston Villa midfielder Lee is his second cousin.

Hendrie has also played for England at Under-16 and Under-17 level.

At the start of the 2011/2012 season, he was Manchester United's right-back at Academy level but gradually

forced himself into his usual position in the centre of midfield. In the end, he was one of the most-used performers with 22 starts and three substitute appearances and he got forward to score three times.

There was a taste of Reserves action in the Lancashire Senior Cup semi-final against Blackpool at Moss Lane towards the end of the season.
