PILAR MENS FOOTBALL LEAGUE CUP FINAL

Leader FC v Quesada Country FC.
Tuesday night, we witnessed a thrilling Cup final,

between our very own Leader Football team and favourites Quesada Country Club. This was going to be a close game, and early pressure from Quesada sees them rattle the crossbar and the post early on. A goal was on the cards and Quesada went 1-0 up with a classy header from all rounder Neil. Leader had there chances too, but a 2nd from Neil doubled Quesada's lead going into the break 2-0.

The second half see a better Leader side, and following a long throw, Leader scored to make it 2-1 and the signs of a fightback, looked promising. However the fightback was short lived, as Matt Cardwell Captain marvel of Quesada, smashed home to make it 3-1. Leader fought hard but late on Matt Cardwell added his 2nd long range effort, and Quesada's 4th to make it 4-1. Leader worked hard, but Quesada C.C always seemed to have an answer. The final score 4-1 to Quesada was a little flattering, but an excellent final played in the right spirit watched by 150 excited crowd. Man of Match Junior C. Quesada's Matt Cardwell stepped up to receive the Tonys Soccer School trophy.
